RAINBOW BRIDGE |

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals that had been ill or old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one of the pets suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly, he/she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together... (Author unknown) |

Jake a.k.a. Commandant Ollie Jake entered our lives for only 2 years from a home where he was no longer wanted and neglected. In his two years with us he visited 17 states. Jake can say he was in the Greyhound Hall of Fame when we visited Abilene, Kansas in 2004 and also a Dewey Dog that same year. Besides traveling, nothing brought a smile to his face like digging a hole in the back yard. Even though He was petrified of thunder storms, Jake now rests on the other side of Rainbow Bridge where the storms of life are over and the joy and memories he gave us live on.

Jazz a.k.a OHK Toccoa Jazz came to us out of the clear blue when her former family had to let her go. She entered the RV and made herself right to home on our bed. She liked her runs and really enjoyed riding in the truck. All we had to do was put the stairs out and up them she went. Jazz was an explorer from the trash can to her walks not much missed her inquisitive eyes. Her active and bouncy form will be absent, but the memories she gave us will live on. Now she travels with Jake and waits at Rainbow Bridge.

Sadie: a.k.a BB's Bad Squaw Sadie was a special dog picked out by Simon on his birthday. She was very friendly and loved the attention people would give her as she walked around the different rv parks. Her ears were always a topic of conversation as she could make one or both move forward or back. Sadie was a very calming influence on Simon, Jake, Jazz and for a few weeks Luxor. It was often at night after everyone went to bed you could hear her play with the squeaky toys for a couple minutes. Sadie can now meet her friends at Rainbow Bridge.

Simon: a.k.a Ohio Tommy Simon was our first greyhound and showed us that nobody can have just one. He was a great traveler visiting 25 states as we went from Maine to Arizona and back several times. A three time Dewey Dog and was even in the Greyhound Hall of Fame in Salina, Kansas when we visited a few years ago. A very calm and quiet dog he, and Sadie showed all ne dogs and fosters the ropes of home life and campground etiquette. He also taught us the appreciation of the great outdoors, as we walked the trails at state parks, and campgrounds. Simon was a leaner, a companion, and friend. Simon can now meet his friends at Rainbow Bridge.
